The Wireless Router is a small, low-cost, wireless device that is primarily deployed to provide wireless coverage in large geographic areas, campuses or in-building applications. It enables non-line-of-sight communications between Clients and Intelligent Access Points (IAP), in a Mesh 6300 network.

Wireless Routers are typically used to seed new network deployments to ensure sufficient coverage while the client population is growing.

The MWR6300 extends coverage and connectivity in a 2.4 GHz Mesh network by meshing access points and users together.

Mesh Wireless Routers (MWR) enable robust, non-line-of-sight communications between users and the network. Mesh Wireless Routers also act as reference points for position location of users and vehicles within the 2.4 GHz Mesh network. The MWR6300 requires only power to operate, as data is transmitted 100% wirelessly between nodes.

Compact and Low Cost
Wireless Routers use the same transceiver technology developed for our Wireless Modem Cards (WMC6300). This creates a compact, low-cost solution for range extension and non-line-of-sight operation.

Easy to Install and Deploy
Wireless Routers are designed to mount on utility poles, billboards, buildings, etc. Simple mounting hardware and a plug-in power connection speeds deployment. They automatically power up and integrate into the network, requiring no manual provisioning or configuration.

Automatic Network Balancing
Mesh Wireless Routers intelligently balance traffic between client demand and network resources. Clients are routed around local congestion, while Multi-Hopping technology enables capacity from distant access points to be “moved” to exactly where it is needed. Network resource utilization is continually optimized, reducing network and operational expenses.

Supports End-to-End Industry Standard IP
As one part of the MEA solution, Mesh Wireless Routers transparently support end-to-end, standards-based Internet Protocol (IP) applications and devices. This maximizes existing investments in client hardware and software, while eliminating training for new applications or procedures.

In a Mesh 6300 network, the Intelligent Access Point (IAP) is a small, low-cost device that serves as a transition

In a Mesh 6300 network, the Intelligent Access Point (IAP) is a small, low-cost device that serves as a transition point from the wireless network to the wired world or provides the functions of an enhanced wireless router by providing wireless network access to one or more IP devices via built-in Ethernet. Each IAP offers a maximum burst rate of up to 6 Mbps that can be used for voice, video and data communications.

If greater network capacity is required, additional IAPs can be easily deployed – without the need for extensive RF or site planning. The location of IAPs is non-critical due to the self-forming, self-healing and self-balancing nature of the Mesh 6300 network.

Supports High-Speed Mobility
The Mesh Wide Area Network (MWAN) 6300 solution has been designed from the ground up as a mobile broadband network. Wide area mobility management and seamless handoffs between IAPs help ensure consistent service and sustained broadband data rates, even with clients moving at highway speeds.
Easy to Install and Deploy
IAPs are designed to mount on utility poles, billboards, buildings, etc. Simple mounting hardware and plug-in power and network connections make deployment easy. IAPs power up and integrate into the network automatically.
Up to 6 Mbps Burst Data Per IAP
Each IAP provides up to 6 Mbps burst data. Since IAPs utilize intelligent data rate selection and sophisticated self-forming routing algorithms, new IAPs can be added to address hot spots, or any place increased capacity is needed. Deployment is simple, as new IAPs automatically integrate themselves into the network.
Fast and Accurate Position Location
Depending on network configuration, every MWAN 6300 IAP can provide quick and accurate position location information that does not require the use of GPS satellites. Location information is provided in standard NMEA0183 format, or through the API. This location information can assist in the deployment of resources, creating a visual map of asset positions at an incident or across an entire city.
Supports End-to-End Industry Standard IP
Intelligent Access Points transparently support end-to-end, standards-based Internet Protocol (IP) applications and devices. This maximizes existing investments in client hardware and software, while eliminating training for new applications or procedures.
Multicast/Broadcast Support
With the removal of the IP proxy a single code base is used across the MWAN 6300 and 4300 product lines resulting in product enhancements that benefit a number of different solutions. In addition, the various MWAN solutions are now interoperable and can reside on the same network.
Automatic Re-Routing
MWAN 6300 compensates for the loss of the wired backhaul by automatically re-routing traffic to ensure no dead spots occur and data reaches its desired destination. If an IAP fails, it turns into an enhanced wireless router and routes traffic to the next working IAP to overcome any loss in coverage.

The intelligent access point acts as a bridge between the wired world and the wireless mesh network. The IAP 4300

The intelligent access point acts as a bridge between the wired world and the wireless mesh network.

The IAP 4300 is available either in a single radio configuration with a 2.4 GHz WiFi radio (802.11 b/g) or in a two radio configuration with an additional 5.8, 5.4 or 4.9 GHz (802.11a) radio. In a single radio configuration, the 2.4 GHz radio is used for both client access and node-to-node mesh links. In the two radio configuration, the 5.8 or 5.4 GHz radio is dedicated for node-to-node mesh traffic, while the 4.9 GHz radio is used for client access. Additionally, the 5.8 or 5.4 GHz radio can be configured to provide client access using the 802.11a standard.

Flexible & Adaptable Gateways
Every 4300 series node is capable of being an intelligent access point (IAP) or mesh wireless router (MWR), reducing the cost of storing excess inventory and simplifying deployment. Additionally, IAPs immediately adapt to backhaul loss by becoming mesh wireless routers, routing traffic to an alternate gateway in the network. This automatic, self-healing ability minimizes service interruptions and ensures continuous connectivity.

Proven Mesh Routing
The IAP 4300 leverages MeshConnex™ routing technology, using real-time congestion management and link control to automatically select the best data route on a per-request basis. This dramatically reduces hop latency, to better deliver real-time voice and multimedia services. Today, MeshConnex powers large-scale Motorola mesh wide area networks of more than 1,000 nodes.

Carrier-Class Security
The IAP 4300 supports complete, end-to-end security. It provides WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption on client access. Motorola’s own Secure Mesh ensures the highest data security within the meshed WiFi network. Plus users can now create access lists that can block particular clients from accessing the network.

Compact Form Factor
The smallest, lightest dual radio access point in its class is aesthetically appealing, resulting in increased mounting location flexibility and community acceptance.

Software Highlights
The 4300 series solution offers a multitude of software features for enhancing your network experience. With Peer to Peer Communication Blocking, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) now have an effective way to manage billing applications and client tracking scenarios. With the combination of the IAP 4300’s VLAN support and standard 802.11e QoS, ISPs can create differentiated services that will allow them to offer tiered packages.

The MIMO technology is combined with high performance radios designed by Motorola to maintain high power transmissions at some of the highest data rates. This results in new capabilities to clients in a mesh network, including improved data uplink, as well as enhancing the ability to send and receive data. These radios, coupled with the ability to use 40 MHz channel widths, allows the added capacity of the AP 7181 to be leveraged for advanced applications.
Excellent Mesh Routing

The AP 7181 offers robust data connections throughout the network by leveraging Motorola’s leading routing technology, MeshConnex™. MeshConnex provides efficient routing, low latency, low routing overhead, high-speed handoffs and proven scalability. The Opportunistic Radio Link Adaptation (ORLA) is a key decision-making element within MeshConnex, designed to select data rates that will provide the best throughput at any given time. ORLA helps ensure Motorola Mesh Wide Area Networks deliver sustained throughput at the highest possible data rate. The AP 7181 features fast hand-offs, intelligent routing and seamless security, all key mobility enhancements exclusive to Motorola. The AP 7181 enables a true mobile office in the field, keeping highly mobile workers connected to key office applications, resulting in improved response times and greater process efficiencies.
Mesh Wide Area Network Management and Deployment

The AP 7181 has been designed to provide added flexibility in both mounting location and software configuration to help minimize deployment and installation costs, maximize ROI and provide for a lower total cost of ownership (TCO). The unit’s deployment process offers a clear work flow and organized menu options for configuration. Coupled with network wide management through One Point Wireless Manager, one application can be used to monitor and maintain AP 7181 configuration consistency throughout a deployed network, and further assist with post deployment optimization via templates and discovery of installed nodes.

More Channels
Motorola combines MIMO, i-OFDM and our advanced signal-processing algorithms to create four simultaneous channels between pairs of transceivers at each end of the link, without losing spectrum efficiency.

Choice and Flexibility
PTP 500 Series bridges are available in several models to meet your individual requirements:

5.4 and 5.8 GHz Integrated: These operate at Ethernet data rates up to 105 Mbps with dual built-in antennas, for obstructed and high-interference environments where high throughput is a major requirement.

5.4 and 5.8 GHz Integrated Lite: With the same robust technology of the full-speed version, the PTP 500 Integrated Lite delivers up to 52 Mbps and is an excellent option where budgets are tight, yet high throughput and availability are key to supporting the applications. The Lite model is software upgradeable as throughput requirements increase.

Extends Intelligent DFS (i-DFS) to regions where radar detection is enabled

Integrated Lightning Protection
No external lightning protection device is needed at the top of the tower adjacent to the radio. An external PTP Lightning Protection Unit (PTP-LPU) is required at the cable entrance point leading to the indoor network equipment. (Please note, 100 percent protection is neither implied nor possible.)

Motorola PTP LINKPlanner
This tool enables you to to plan for single or multiple links simultaneously, using Google Earth to provide a comprehensive overview of the entire network. Download the PTP LINKPlanner free of charge from Motorola’s support pages.

Superior Technology, Superior Results Motorola’s unique combination of technologies delivers consistent carrier-grade performance for your data, voice and video communications.

Choice and Flexibility
PTP 300 Series bridges are available in several models to meet your individual requirements and includes:

A single T1/E1 port that uses a Y Cable or splitter installed next to the power indoor unit.

Extends Intelligent DFS (i-DFS) to regions where radar detection is enabled

Boosts throughput via a license key up to 50 Mbps for a link that is line-of-sight LoS and less than 10 miles in range.

5.4 and 5.8 GHz Integrated: These models operate at Ethernet data rates up to 25 Mbps with dual-polar built-in antennas, for obstructed and high-interference environments where cost-effectiveness and carrier-class performance are key.

5.4 and 5.8 GHz Connectorized: These models combine the technology of the Integrated versions with the high-gain advantage of external antennas. Over long distances and in extremely adverse environments, including deep non-line-of sight, these solutions let you connect over greater distances with higher reliability and speed than comparable bridges.

Integrated Lightning Protection Built-in lightning protection capability means that no external lightning protection device is needed at the top of the tower or mast. An external PTP Lightning Protection Unit (PTP-LPU) is required at the cable entrance point leading to the indoor network. (Note: 100 percent protection is neither implied nor possible.)

Motorola PTP LINKPlanner This tool lets you plan for single or multiple links simultaneously, using Google Earth to provide a comprehensive overview of the entire network. Download the PTP LINKPlanner free of charge from Motorola’s support pages.

Part of the One Point Wireless Suite, Motorola’s PTP LINKPlanner is a customized tool for designing and configuring point-to-point links.

Part of the One Point Wireless Suite, Motorola’s PTP LINKPlanner is a customized tool for designing and configuring point-to-point links. Available to support the breadth of the portfolio, the application allows operators to determine link performance characteristics for the PTP 800 Licensed Ethernet Microwave Series and for the PTP 300, 500 and 600 Series of unlicensed and shared wireless bridges. The PTP LINKPlanner, available for PCs and Macs, allows you to conduct “what if” scenarios, based on geography, distance, antenna height, transmit power and other factors, to optimize system performance before purchase.

PTP LINKPlanner is Motorola’s next generation link planning tool. With its elegant link design and intelligence, the newly improved tool continues to grow in popularity as the most trusted and intuitive RF link planning tool in the industry. Tens of thousands of links have been successfully deployed across the globe using the LINKPlanner.

Quick Start
Path profile information comes directly from the Motorola servers – with no web form to complete – and is sent as an email, to be imported into the LINKPlanner tool.

Graphical Display
Optimize a link before deployment by changing input data to see the effect on performance and throughput. For example, if a link calculation indicates low throughput, then a number of factors (product type, frequency, channel bandwidth, antenna height, antenna size etc) can be changed to see the improvement on link performance.

Timeliness and Reporting
Typically the link planning process takes approximately an hour, and the resulting report provides graphical and textual detail of the path and its projected performance.

Download
The tool can be downloaded from Motorola’s support pages.

The AP 6511 is expressly designed for one of the most challenging wireless LAN environments – dormitory and hotel guest

The AP 6511 is expressly designed for one of the most challenging wireless LAN environments – dormitory and hotel guest rooms. Standard service personnel can install the AP 6511 in minutes, not hours, using existing category 5 or 6 cabling already in the walls. The installation is predictable and repeatable – two key reasons the AP 6511 will dramatically lower the installation time and cost of a room wireless LAN. The AP’s sleek “hide in sight” design and minute size match the decor of any room. The AP 6511 includes intelligent self-optimizing Controller AP code, which allows a small property to gain the benefits of a central controller – automatic adoption, central configuration and status, and automatic RF management – without the cost of a dedicated RF switch. For larger properties and facilities, the AP 6511 can be managed by Motorola’s WiNG-based RF switches for very high scalability and seamless integration with other indoor and outdoor 802.11n access points.

Full 802.11n performance with standard 802.3af
Simplifies and reduces total cost of installation using standard Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

Dual band Support
Operates in either 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz frequency bands to support 802.11b/g/n or 802.11a/n wireless LANs.

Internal antennas with 2×2 MIMO radio
Dual 3.5dBi gain antennas and 2×2 MIMO technology extend the performance and range for legacy and new 802.11n clients

Mobility
Supports fast, secure roaming and rate scaling. Pre-emptive roaming and load balancing are supported when connected to an RF Switch to increase reliability and network resilience.

Security
This unique multi-purpose device can execute and enforce the IDS/IPS security policies configured in the Motorola wireless switch, and can also be utilized as a 24×7 dedicated sensor with Wireless IPS from Motorola AirDefense solutions.

Application Support
Supports WMM-UAPSD and SIP Call Admission Control, for optimized VoWLAN performance, as well as video streaming and data throughput for 802.11 a/b/g/n clients.

Sleek form factor
Designed to ‘hide in sight’ over any standard Cat5/6 structured wiring plate. The LEDs can be disabled by administrator command to further blend and disappear on the wall. There are no WiFi or WLAN markings so the unit is discreet and subtle.

Modular Industrial Design
The mounting bracket features six unique hole patterns to match most any telecom plate worldwide. A keystone snap-in port provides a fast method to connect any secondary cabling behind the wall to the AP. If the snap-in port is not used for a secondary cable, it can be dedicated as a switched Fast Ethernet port. To further add modularity and flexibility in network design, a three port Fast Ethernet Module can be field installed via a snap-in access port.

Voice, Locationing, Hot Spot Access
The AP 6511 supports voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN) services, such as QoS, which ensures toll-quality even with many simultaneous VoWLAN calls on a single access point. Locationing services over 802.11 provide the ability to locate and track people or assets, and even to control access to the network or applications. In addition, the wireless hotspot provides a walled garden and forced portal page.

The T3 PowerBroadband Solution leverages the in-building telephone wiring to deploy Ethernet and wireless LAN networks without the effort and

The T3 PowerBroadband Solution leverages the in-building telephone wiring to deploy Ethernet and wireless LAN networks without the effort and expense of re-wiring with structured cabling. The solution comprises a POE switches, Ethernet wallplates, and 802.11 b/g Wireless Wallplates to extend wired and wireless Internet access to guest rooms. The PowerBroadband solution uses a 25 port Switch installed in the central wiring closet; and wall plate form factor CPEs installed over any RJ11 telephone plate within the premise. The key enabling technology is Motorola’s patented Adaptive Line Power which delivers operating power to each wall plate CPE transparently over analog voice and telephone wires, at distances from 1,000ft (300m) to 2,000ft (600m).

T3 POWERBROAD SWITCH

Adaptive Line Power
Line power operates over a single pair of telephone grade UTP wire up to 1,000ft (300m) for the MC-802 Wireless WallPlate and 2,000ft (600m) for the M2 Wired WallPlate. If the wire distance exceeds the limits of the technology or the wiring infrastructure, a local power supply can be connected to extend the solution up to 5,000ft (1500m). Adaptive Line Power is transparent to analog voice (POTS) on the same wire pair, so service outages will not occur during maintenance periods or AC main power failure.

Reliable datarate over telephone wire
Based on programmable VDSL, the T3 system automatically rate adapts to the wire conditions from 75Mbps to 2Mbps at all wire distances. Administrators can set critical parameters to govern the automatic rate adaptation; delivering a high availability line rate to support revenue generating applications and an Ethernet-line bit error rate.

Intelligent, useful line status
High level and detailed status for each port and each transmission line is visible on the connected T3 Switch and via SNMP. Historical graphs track critical quality parameters over time to facilitate easy diagnostics and trending errors. Administrators use this information to spot trends and ensure high reliability.

Integrated Wireless Controller code
Each T3 Switch supports up to 25 WallPlates, mix and match between wired only and wired/wireless WallPlates. Centrally manage all WallPlates including automatic RF runtime management, automatic channel selection, security, VLANs, etc.

MC 802 WIRELESS WALLPLATE

Operating Band and WLANs
Operates in 2.4 Ghz band supporting 802.11b or g clients. Up to 16 BSSIDs can be configured on each WallPlate; each with individual security and VLAN configuration.

Internal high gain antennas
Dual 3.2dBi gain, omnidirectional antennas and a 20dBm transmitter cover an average of 5 to 7 hotel rooms. More or less depending on the architecture and construction material.

Mobility
Supports pre-authentication roaming between other WallPlate access points and 3rd party access points. Supports WMM QoS and voice prioritization for VoWLAN phones.

Security
For each WLAN, security settings include open, WEP, WPA, and WPA2/TKIP/AES. Pre-shared keys and RADIUS 802.1x authentication supported per WLAN.

WallPlate form factor
Designed to install over any RJ11 wall plate and convert it into a multi use communications hub. The MC-802 is tamperproof and matches a hotel guest room décor. The MC-802 includes two switched fast Ethernet ports for integration with wired networks.

M2 Ethernet Wallplate

Two fast Ethernet switched ports and a pass through, filtered RJ11 jack. As with the MC-802, the M2 WallPlate can be installed in minutes and receives operating power and broadband from the centrally located T3 Switch.

Centralized Management
A single console provides aggregated views of the data on multiple appliances and a single point for configuration changes. Providing a holistic view into the network streamlines monitoring of security events, automates management, and reduces the resolution time of network issues, thereby improving productivity.

Policy-Based Fault Management
The solution supports a variety of back-end management protocols to incorporate multiple vendor platforms and presents a normalized representation of statistics, configuration and faults to the administrator. Simply put, users can define network configuration profiles and effortlessly apply them to different portions of the network hierarchy, ultimately reducing the amount of administrative time required to manage the wireless LAN.

Automated Discovery
Plug-in architecture abstracts vendor and client specific attributes from the end user device, and allows the system to rapidly add new models without changing the UI or upgrading the system. Reduces staging and provisioning requirements for new deployments, devices additions, or hardware changes to the existing network.

Custom Reporting
Customizable reports can be created using the systems Report Builder tool. Network administrators can customize content, scheduling, formatting and delivery options.

Business challenge
You need to connect your cash registers to your network, but the need to move the registers throughout the year to accommodate seasonal needs will result in high wiring costs.

Solution
Quickly and easily extend cost-effective wireless connectivity for up to 16 cash registers with a single CB3000. And when you need to move your registers to better serve holiday buyers, or for an improved floor plan, just simply relocate the CB3000 with the devices to maintain wireless connectivity – without incurring the expense and time of wiring and re-wiring.
Business challenge
You have an application that will deliver competitive advantage, but it requires the capture real time data from some of your larger equipment. Since the equipment does not have a PC or PCI card slot, you cannot establish the wireless connectivity you need.

Solution
The CB3000 extends wireless connectivity to equipment that typically would not be able to establish a wireless connection via the RJ-45 port. Ideal for connecting printers, scales, time clocks, point-of-sale and more to your wireless network.
